On Saturday June 4th, Groningen’s city centre will be all about arts and sciences. During this seventh edition of De Nacht van Kunst & Wetenschap we will take you on an interactive tour to the unknown. Choose one of the routes we have put together for you (for example our special English spoken route!) or make your own programme using our festival app. Take a look at the acts where language is no problem in the tab on the left of this page.
At 7.30 pm doors open at every festival location. The festival will kick off at 8 pm and will last until at least 1 am. Check out the timetable for the exact times for the locations. And do remember to get to the afterparty in VERA Groningen, where we’ll end the night with Loft.
In the programme booklet you’ll find our routes, theme and some highlights for every location, the timetable and the map.
Tickets are sold at the price of € 15,-. Students and holders of a CJP-pas pay € 12,50. Admission is free of charge for kids younger than 12.
Prior to the festival tickets are sold online and at the locations below.
You can exchange your e-ticket for a wristband or purchase a wristband directly, from Monday May 16th at the following locations:
- Groninger Forum (location Hereplein),
- Groninger Forum Bibliotheek (location Oude Boteringestraat),
- VVV Groningen (Grote Markt)
We recommend you don’t wait until the last minute to exchange your e-ticket, so you don’t waste your time standing in line during the festival.
Ticket sales during the festival
At Saturday, June 4th until 4 pm, you can exchange your e-tickets for a wristband or buy a wristband directly at Groninger Forum (location Hereplein), Groninger Forum Bibliotheek (location Oude Boteringestraat) or VVV Groningen (Grote Markt).
At our Nacht Info Point near the Der Aa-kerk, you can exchange your e-ticket or buy a wristband from 12 pm until 12 am. Online ticket sales during De Nacht ends at 7 pm.
This year we introduce to you the De Nacht app that lets you browse our programme and favorite the acts you want to see. Make sure to download the app before you head to the festival to compose your own route. The app notifies you when your favorite acts are about to start. Download the app in the app store:
The programme takes place at locations in the city centre. Don’t be late, some locations have limited capacity.
In case of an emergency you can find our First Aid team located next to the Der Aa-kerk. Remember, you can always ask any representative of the organization to contact the First Aid team for you.
Food and drinks
You can find several catering outlets for both food and drinks at the Academieplein and near the Der Aa-kerk. Most indoor loca-
tions also have their own catering. You can only pay your purchases with cash (there are no pin or credit card devices available!).
Take a look here for the route containing acts that are accessible for non-Dutch speakers. And remember: most artist and scientists speak English, so don’t be afraid to ask them questions.
Unfortunately, not all locations are wheelchair accessible. The locations that are accessible are indicated with a wheelchair symbol.
Have a great Nacht (Night)!
